On 15th April, a tragic accident on the Wudanyi-Mwatate road in Taita-Taveta County claimed the lives of three siblings from Chivara village in Kilifi County. The family is now in mourning over this devastating loss. Jaribuni location chief Josephine Mrabu, with her younger sister Prudence Mrabu and younger brother Emmanuel Baraka, passed away in a tragic accident on the Wudanyi-Mwatate road last Saturday. The deceased siblings' mother, Naomi Mrabu, who is elderly and widowed, is grieving the loss. One of their relatives, Mr. Amos Kavure, expressed condolences and described the incident as a devastating blow to the family. As per Mr. Kavure, the deaths of the siblings are a huge loss for their widowed mother, Naomi Mrabu. The community has also lost an excellent leader in Chief Josephine, Mr. Amos Kavure added. "The family had a total of 10 children, including 8 daughters and 2 sons. However, the tragic accident took away three of them at once," he said. The passing away of Chief Josephine, Prudence, and Emmanuel has left a void in our community. Chief Josephine was a fearless leader who stood up against injustices, including those perpetrated by politicians. Her absence will be deeply felt," expressed the mournful relative. The remains of Josephine and Prudence are being held at the Voi Referral Hospital Mortuary, while Emmanuel's body is at the Coast General and Referral Hospital Mortuary in Mombasa.
